A Beautiful Mistake is realizing that amazing things can come from poor choices and difficult situations. In music this can happen when wrong notes are played or words are forgotten. Turning imperfections and even blemishes into something beautiful is both expressed in the music of Jimmy and the Beautiful Mistakes and in the creativity of the group. Not getting stuck in the mistake is the key both personally and musically. The first step is often thinking, “wow I really fucked up!” 

As musicians and music lovers, music resonates with our different moods and speaks to wherever we are on our journey. This impacts the creative process in many ways. As a band we don’t just bring our musical ability to the table when working on a song. We bring our whole selves, including our joy, our struggles, and our pain. Staying open to how each of us feels about the melodies, the lyrics, the tempo, the arrangement, and the dynamics, is both powerful and beautiful.

Imagine rockin’ guitar, bass, and drums with sometimes haunting melodies and lyrics. Music where every song is decidedly different in style and where simple chord progressions catch you off guard. One minute your body is moving to a groove and the next, you’re spinning slowly, eyes closed in bliss.
